Our department was formed in 1962 by a group of concerned citizens. With the roots of volunteerism deep in Spanish Fort, we rely heavily on neighbors helping neighbors. As a combination department, we currently have 50 members, both career and volunteer; operate 3 stations and 13 pieces of equipment. We are primarily funded by the City of Spanish Fort and a countywide ad valorem tax.  We still rely on community donations to fund expenses not covered by the City.
